Kirk leaned against a wall and gave Spock one of his best and charming smiles. Kirk listed all the finer points of having a Vulcan on board the ship, throwing in an affectionate word or two. If Spock noticed, he didn’t say anything as he stood there with his hands behind his back listening attentively.
Kirk was a charmer and prided himself on his ability to charm any woman or man for that matter. Spock unexpectedly was a difficult one to land. Not wanting to give up on a challenge, Kirk was persistent in his advances on Spock.
Every time Lt. Uhura came into a room, every time her laughter filled the air, Spock would turn his head towards that direction. Kirk figured Spock was trying to be subtle but Kirk noticed everything when it came to Spock.
“Spock, how do you feel about me?” Kirk asked as casually as possible.
“You are a great Captain. You perform admirably in your duties and maintaining the ship.” Spock replied.
Kirk sighed. “I mean personally.”
Spock canted his head to the side. “I fail to understand what exactly you are asking, Sir.”
“Do you find me attractive…even sexually?” Kirk lessened the distance between them. He rested a hand on Spock’s hip as his other hand reached up to run in his hair. “Because I want you.” He whispered.
Spock averted his eyes from Kirks anticipating gaze. He reached behind and lowered Kirk’s hand from his hair and then looked at him.
“Captain, I hope you don’t take offense but I wish for nothing more than friendship with you. I desire a relationship with someone else.”
Kirk, feeling rejected, lowered his shoulders and took a step back. He nodded with his silent ‘all right’ and a frown.
“I’m sorry.” Spock continued. Kirk held a hand up, signally him to stop and walked away from his First Officer down a corridor.
McCoy walked down the corridor just in time to see a slumping Kirk walk away. He wasn’t walking with his usual gusto. McCoy stopped side by side Spock and crossed his arms.
“What’s up with him?” He asked. Spock turned to him with his hands behind his back.
“He’s displaying the typical reaction of a male whose advances have been found unwanted.”
McCoy rolled his eyes. “And why would he be interested in you of all people?” There was a distinct tone of disgust in his voice.
Spock arched a brow at McCoy and decided this wasn’t an issue worth arguing.
“Perhaps, McCoy, you should comfort the Captain?” He suggested.
“I will thank you. Out of my way.” McCoy purposely bumped Spock’s shoulder and walked past Spock. If Spock wasn’t into Kirk, McCoy was going to show him who was.
FILLED kinda
