Here is where you can request Spock/Uhura fic. All character versions are allowed (TOS Spock, AOS/nu! Spock, Spock Prime, Mirror Verse Spock and the same applies to Uhura). Requests can be kink or not, it doesn't really matter. You may request using your user name or post anonymously.

Uhura chalked it up to a seriously misguided social cue on his part, and even though her conclusion was sound, she found herself unable to sleep that night. Gaila had talked herself to sleep hours ago, and still Nyota laid awake as the pale moon shone into her small dorm room.

She gave up on sleep sometime around 3. She slipped into the fog which had settled into the campus, running lightly and quick so that the cold could not seep into her thin jacket.

The Commander’s quarters looked like any other from the outside, but she detected a slightly more meticulous outside. No flowers in the windows or small charms on the doors. She pressed the communicator box quickly.

“Uhura.” He looked as if he hadn’t been sleeping. His hair was smooth as always, his expression belying only slight surprise to see her there.

“Sorry,” she said tersely as she walked into his quarters. More standard issue couches and chairs, steel and gray upholstery. “I just – I couldn’t sleep.”

“I see.” The Commander closed the door.

Nyota took a step closer to him. “I need to know what the hell is going on.”

“I do not understand your meaning.”

“You asked me out.”

“I did,” he said simply.

“Why? Do you even get what that means to humans?”

He seemed vaguely insulted. “I am well-versed in human culture, including courtship protocol.”

“Then why did you ask me out?” The question burst out of her lips. “I want to know why.”

“Courtship usually occurs between two mutually agreeable parties which share any number of compatible qualities –“

“Shut up,” she interrupted in her frustration, looking for the right words but settling for asinine ones instead. “God. Do you…like me? In a courtship way?”

This was a harder question for him, that she could tell. “I thought it obvious. I did, after all, propose an off-campus meeting at an establishment well-known for such things.”

“So you just decided this morning that you were going to take me on a date?”

His eyes were blank, as they always were, but perhaps…they weren’t blank at all. Perhaps she had been reading them wrong all this time. She saw something there, a seriousness which she had always mistaken for disinterest.

“I assure you, Cadet. My decision was not made this morning. I have been considering it for some time.”

“How long?” She felt ridiculous.

And then, the Commander did a quite incredible thing. He took a step nearer to her, close enough that she could feel the heat from his body pulsing through the air. “Nyota.”

It was the first time he’d used her name, but that wasn’t what flipped the switch in her mind, and made her instantly replay a million interactions between them. Tiny things that she’d thought unimportant now needed to be analysed, re-analysed, and mulled over. The way he had never missed a chorale performance – impassive expression or not. Her high grades in his classes and the fact that she was his duty roster. The way that he stood so close to her now, closer than she had ever seen him stand to anyone, ever.

There would be time for questions and clarifications later. Nyota chose to put it all on the backburner, as its said, and go with her gut. She stepped forward to the Commander (simply Spock, now), and slid one arm around his neck. It was enough to pull his face down to hers, for her to brush her lips against his. Warm, soft. She felt the hairs on the back of his neck, the warm skin beneath it. And now his hand was on her back and she was leaning in for another kiss, and another, and another.
